Co2 Cascade Low Temperature Applications
Improved performance of Carbon Dioxide (Co2) LT cascade applications by eliminating “flash gas” due to long liquid lines, vertical lift or component pressure drop which can cause substantial amounts of flash gas to pass through the expansion valves greatly reducing system efficiency. Pressure sub-cooled Co2 ”vapor free” liquid provided by the LPA® ensures 100% liquid delivery to all expansion valves regardless of case / fixture location. (Saving performance guide 12% to 27%) dependent on liquid line pressure drop and associated saturated percentage of flash gas at the expansion valves which will have an adverse affect on compressor pumping capacity and power consumption.
Additional improvements in efficiencies are gained by de-superheating the compressor’s discharge vapour before entering the cascade condenser. By using this patented process, average discharge temperatures can be reduced by 20°C (40F) improving the heat exchangers capacity, associated less heat extraction and lower condensing pressures are achieved.
